Suzanne Jackson: What is Love
SFMOMA
Commissioned by SFMOMA, this short documentary follows artist Suzanne Jackson from her Savannah studio as she reflects on a lifetime devoted to art, nature, and creative freedom. Spanning painting, dance, poetry, and stage design, Jackson’s multidisciplinary practice reveals a profound belief in the interconnectedness of all living things.
Presented as the centerpiece of the installation at her retrospective Suzanne Jackson: What Is Love, the film traces her six-decade career—from the bohemian energy of 1960s California to her quiet home in Georgia—culminating in a luminous vision of what love, and art, can be.
